I think I'm right in saying the CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence (which XenonHUD is released under) does allow for modding (see the line "Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material" on the CC licence details page), as long as you release your mod with the same licence. However, any further licence discussions should probably be directed to the Licensing OXP's thread.gsagostinho wrote:the HUD is also adapted from Xenon HUD (which has a Creative Common share alike license, so no modding...)

Re: Screenshots
You are completely right, that was my mistake. Share Alike (sa) means sharing with the same license, I mistook it for the other type of CC license which is NoDerivatives (nd). Thanks for the clarification!phkb wrote:I think I'm right in saying the CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 licence (which XenonHUD is released under) does allow for modding (see the line "Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material" on the CC licence details page), as long as you release your mod with the same licence.

Re: Screenshots
<chuckles> One thing that always irked me about ED/FD was the ubiquitous orange!
Can you get that scanner to mimic the sensor pulse?

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Oh, that's one of the things I absolutely love about it!
What do you mean by sensor pulse? Can you get that scanner to mimic the sensor pulse?
I am now in the process of recreating this type of cockpit using only GPL friendly images. If I manage to create a convincing cockpit using this, then I will release this as an OXP. If not, I will probably release it as it is now but without the cockpit images.

Re: Screenshots
After much work, now I can mimic the sensor pulses as well I also added some nice looking warnings, including an animated critical warning when the energy is critically low. I also added a bunch of sound effects, though my video capturing application does not record sounds. Here is a video of the current state:Cody wrote:Can you get that scanner to mimic the sensor pulse?

Minor tweaks? What... like changing the orange for cool blue? <grins>

Re: Screenshots
Good work. I prefer a simpler HUD. This one came with SimonB's Cobra Courier. I made a few minor modifications.

Thanks a lot!CaptSolo wrote:Good work.
I think a lot of folks here would agree with that, I myself use a very simple one when playing on my small notebook The downside of a complex HUD like this one I am working on is that it is considerably demanding on the computer, so I suspect one really needs a powerful machine to run it well (Oolite isn't really made for HUD animations, I am exploiting some things that are really not optimal). But since I am normally able to run Oolite quite smoothly on my main machine, I decided to take the challenge and see what happens. The work is basically complete, I am now just trying to figure out where I can still optimize it.I prefer a simpler HUD. This one came with SimonB's Cobra Courier. I made a few minor modifications.
