Definitely "is that a laser in your tail pipe, or are you just pleased to see me?" stuff.

Looks like "photo from wedding album... in space!!"
Maybe it's the z-buffer thing but to me that looks like a photo of a monitor screen - the blur is a bit too dominant.
Wheras in this one it looks more subtle...
...and indeed, fabulous

Re: Screenshots
It's not related to the z-buffer problem. The intention in that particular pic was indeed to make it look like a monitor. In my game-inside-mind the user's monitor is the ship's external viewcamera and I wanted to try to get that camera feeling. The effects used in that pic include Bloom, Gaussian Blur, HDR, light CRT emulation - probably not too visible with the pic size reduction for posting on the forum, cinematic filter, Colorfulness and a few others I can't remember.
If anyone is interested in trying it, I have found that Reshade up to and including version 3.0.4 is fine, while from 3.0.5 oinwards we seem to get that z-buffer issue (so better avoid those). The possibilities for customization of the effects are almost endless. Maybe I can post some more details and example settings on the Reshade thread later.
And, thanks for the kind words guys!

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
