consoleMessage Vs commsMessage
Right now, I use consoleMessage when the player is docked, and commsMessage when in space. Not sure why I do, though. I was wondering if someone could tell me what the difference between these two functions are, and when it is best to use each one over the other.

Re: consoleMessage Vs commsMessage
Comms usually arrive from other actors in the game. You can recall the last ones with "`" key in space and logged by CommsLogMFD.
Console is better for status reports which vanish after max. 10 seconds. If it is important to be logged then use comms from player ship, which in my eyes looks like as the AI of the ship is talking to the pilot.

So the only real difference is that comms are logged whereas console isn't?
Re: consoleMessage Vs commsMessage
What Norby says. The difference is pretty much conceptual. IMO (in my ooniverse ), Comms is for communications and console is your ship talking to you.

I guess this is what i have been doing.
Thank you everybody for your responses to my question! I appreciate the help.
