Nah, it's just resting... pining for the fjords!

As for your questions: I've not read much Pratchett, and I ain't a Trekkie!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

not read the long earth so i couldnt answer that one. but not a "trekkie" but i do like the show....so...
trick question.. 0 lines

IMDB has this in the trivia section of the episode..
Nichelle Nichols does not appear in this episode. Uhura's duties were assumed by Lt. Palmer, played by Elizabeth Rogers. Walter Koenig is also absent.
Arthur: OK. Leave this to me. I'm British. I know how to queue.
OR i could go with
Arthur Dent: I always said there was something fundamentally wrong with the universe.
or simply

a below average IQ boy suddenly realises the stars are really far away and he is on a small rock hurtling through space.

name book and author.
Arthur: OK. Leave this to me. I'm British. I know how to queue.
OR i could go with
Arthur Dent: I always said there was something fundamentally wrong with the universe.

Brain Wave (1954) by Poul Anderson - one of my favourites.

later - forgot to say that some of the same ideas turn up in Vinge's A Fire Upon the Deep

OK - a 1960s novel (initially a magazine serial) in which a scientist defects to Denmark with the secret of antigravity. Give the author and a title (there are variants).

Have a little sci-fi quiz to start your day!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

I got 10/15 too, but I had to outright guess a few.

Without checking for the right answers, I ran through it again, changing the ones I thought I'd got wrong - and got 10/15 again.

10/15, I'm not up on my recent Doctor Who companions, character names from 1920s movies or special-effects creators.
