With the demise of the Her Imperial Majesty's Space Navy project, I was left with the textures I had made for it, which I rather liked.
An idea I have to put them to use is as a private security firm -- Navy Veterans Security, or NVS.
I had at one point edited my installation of Hired Guns to add them as additional options, with text appropriate etc., but I foolishly had edited it within the OXZ form which since has been overwritten by an official update to that OXP.
Anyway, here are the ships with a rudimentary shipdata.plist that will spawn NVS Boas & Anacondas with their escorts. The idea being that they've been hired by some wealthy entity to transport valuable cargo somewhere important. I haven't set up the likely_cargo to support that idea yet, however, but did set up better lasers and better accuracy for the pilots than the standard ships. These guys may prove a fun challenge to you pirates. (Also this shipdata.plist is set up to support Sniper Guns, if installed.)

The code and textures are there for the Navy Constrictor that I had designed for the old HMISN -- a cool all-black design with a highly reflective star logo -- but as that design doesn't fit in with the rest (and it's unlikely even for veterans who are now civilians to get their hands on Constrictors), that code is disabled.
Anyway, if someone wants to pick up the idea and build something a proper OXP out of this, please do. Otherwise, enjoy the additional ships and the pirating challenge. (It would be really cool, if possible, to have them warn you to stay away, then attack you if you get close, only to return to the mothership once you get a safe distance away again -- unless you've attacked them, of course. I don't even know if it's possible to do that and keep their Legal Status set to Clean and Bounty to 0.)

Shame that - had some (potentially) good stuff in it.Keeper wrote:With the demise of the Her Imperial Majesty's Space Navy project...
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

I assumed it was 'on hold' due to the current workload of some contributers. I hope it is not dead as it was an excellent project. I also have plenty of material either ready or well under way for it - if HIMSN has gone down the tubes, I might as well 'recycle' some of it.

OK, let's say "apparent demise"...

Mayhap a populator script might be useful just so these incredibly well designed vessels might show up in our normal travels

Re the HISMN project, what was still outstanding for it? On briefly looking through the last available download (v0.701, which I think should be 0.7.0.1), I can see populator-type functions, but no missions (at least, none that I could see). Was this the next step for the project?

Well, the Boas and Anacondas are set up in the rudimentary shipdata.plist as traders, so the default populator will spawn them, and the fighters are set up to be their escorts, so they show up too.Duggan wrote:Mayhap a populator script might be useful just so these incredibly well designed vessels might show up in our normal travels :)
