Speaking of peculiar beasts, what book has this animal on its cover? Bonus points if you can name the animal …

A clue: this is not so much a work of science fiction as it is a book of speculative science …

Correct! And it is indeed a reedstilt.

I recently discovered that Dixon was involved in a TV series on the theme of future evolution, The Future is Wild, which even spawned a short-lived Japanese theme park …

Fish have taken to the skies, squid to the forests, and the world's largest-ever desert is filled with strange worms and insects.
Fascinating - especially arboreal squid.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

The Future is Wild is (or was) available on DVD, I've got it and have seen it in charity shops a few times.

What a daft idea!
The rear-facing driving position was supposed to be safer for the driver in the event of a crash, which with no depth perception or peripheral vision was presumably quite a common event!
Anyway, I'll brew up a drop more Evil Juice and have a think. Back later with a question...

Ok, here's one to test your google-foo.

Which 'Pitch Black' actor went on to play a recurring then regular character in Stargate SG1, and also a regular character in Farscape?
Extra Evil Juice if you can also name all three characters.

:P

That was rather easy.

It's of course the luv'ly and sexy Claudia Black, who plays Aeryn Sun, Vala and Sharon Montgomery.

Absolutely right, and an Anaconda full of Evil Juice is on its way to you.
Sorry if it was too easy - I've just noticed I answered spud42's 'not too easy' question within three minutes of him posting it as well, so maybe we need to make 'em tougher.
Anyways, over to you...

I wouldn't say the question was too easy, Smivs, it's just that (in my deluded mind) Claudia and me go way, way back.

         :P :P :P

Anyway, let's see if this will be a tad harder.

A Dutch television presenter and musician wrote a novel and released an accompanying record as a multimedia project.

His name or the name of the novel, please.

Spud, I filled a Worm with some of the Anaconda's load and it should be with you shortly.
