IoT? Connected devices? Load of bollocks - dangerous bollocks! <wanders off, grumbling>
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

It's always possible his problems were due to his kettle participating in ddos attacks …

A toaster in the service of the Organizatsiya … if I wake up and find a severed fridge's head in my bed, I'll let you know!

Fridges are well dodgy, and often harbour strange life forms - having them 'connected' could be dangerous!

The whole "internet of things" thing is just an excuse to sell expensive appliances that don't really do anything useful over and above their usual functions, and often fail because the network is down or something. I'd sooner have a £5 kettle from Argos!

Kettle seems particularly bizarre - you have to be physically present to fill it with water and then again to pour the boiling water out of it - what's the point of being able to turn it on from a distance?

The only good kettle is one without a water gauge!

Have i just entered a Last of the Summer Wine episode?
Arthur: OK. Leave this to me. I'm British. I know how to queue.
OR i could go with
Arthur Dent: I always said there was something fundamentally wrong with the universe.

Stovetop kettles are popular again - any colour you like. I had an old one in the back of a cupboard, but outed it during my recent relocation.

An un-expected benefit of the IoT - it can be used for DDoS attacks! Your fridge can save the World from the curse of social media.
