The calm before the storm, eh? Turbulent times ahead, certainly... and not only down to Brexit.
Meanwhile, across the pond in the land of E pluribus unum... to be honest, I'm lost for words!

This is probably the best summary of where we are now as regards Brexit - which basically still seems to be "working out what 'Brexit' means":

Splendid! One might wish for a contemporary episode of Spitting Image too - the cast of characters is near-perfect.

It has become quiet about this. I suspect that the British are hoping that everybody else will forget about the vote after some time, and everything can continue as usual.

Here's a gigantic potential spanner in the works … the idea that the UK can join the European Free Trade Association? Norway might veto it.

No doubt there is much activity going on in the background, preparations for the spring offensive etc, but the 'phoney war' rumbles on.
It is at least reassuring to know that the US Strategic Command has a plan to deal with the zombie apocalypse - CONPLAN 8888.

I have the horrible feeling that this might actually be part of a plan … it certainly fits with Andrea "swivel-eyes" Leadsom's promise of fruit-picking jobs for all.
They're probably holding the chutney in reserve.

The nation's youth are perfectly happy picking fruit - in Australia!

Re: Brexit vote, the zombie apocalypse and other fallout.
Hard to say - I can't see it coming in the next six months but it's definitely in the post. As Sterling slides against the Euro and the US dollar, inflation will start to bite and jobs will start to disappear. Unless the Tories pull some sort of gold-plated economic rabbit out of the Brexit hat - I'm not holding my breath, given the sort of Brains Trust they have going on there - what looked to a lot of people like a leap in the dark in 2014 could start to seem like a step back from the brink.Cody wrote:Anyway, when's IndyRef2 gonna happen?
Always subject to, y'know, events. And of course, Westminster has to give Scotland permission to hold another referendum, which they might not do if they think it might result in a Yes vote. Although how long that sort of situation could last is anyone's guess.
