Griff Boa Model

Post by CaptSolo »

Anyone seen this while viewing ships for sale? Looks like a problem with the mesh.
Image

The model is from the core set bundled with Dev Oolite 1.83. I will import into Wings3D to see what I can.

I'm confused (not so unusual, that) - decals on the core ships? <scratches head>
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Aye, the models come bundled with Oolite and are referenced with

Code: Select all

like_ship
. Griff's Ship Set shipdata.plist supplies the materials and shaders. The decals, however, are my personal touch.

Okay, I see... you had me wondering! The core ships would certainly benefit from having decals.

I've made liveries for the Boa, so I had a very close look at it, and especially the textures, and I didn't notice something like this. But the texture has a strange bug: One part of the left side of the ship is mirrored - coincidentally the same part where the logo is in your picture. Strangely this doesn't affect the visual appearance - apart from the almost invisible issue that the illumination map isn't mirrored, so one or two lighted "windows" are in the wrong place. Strangely I don't see any light in your picture!

As I indicated, that image is from the shipyard screen. All Griff's ships viewed in the shipyard have their lights turned off. It's in the shader code.

Ok, but then what I said is possibly irrelevant, because I was talking of the standard Boa that comes with version 1.82 or 1.83.
