So...
The question we are all anxious to have answered, is of course:
You're going to upgrade to an iron ass, no?

This Extra Energy Unit upgrade looks like a good place to start!Rxke wrote:So...

Re: Get Giles on his bike!
apparently you first need the extra cargo bay in order to install it.

Speaking as someone who spent several years starting a moped a couple of times a day - not nearly as much work as riding a bicycle - while wearing a full crash helmet, that is not really a viable proposition.ClymAngus wrote:

Re: Get Giles on his bike!
And yes this is to be read in a comical tone....
You really can't get away with anything vaguely fuzzy on the accuracy front on this board can you?
It's top button done up, 1+1=2, p's and q's, pens in a row, shirt tucked neatly in. No deviation; just straight-down-the-line.
Nice and binary. It is or it isn't, no gray allowed.
It's a good thing it was only a suggestion, I'd have looked a right t*at after that strident rebuttal if I'd ordered him to buy it.

Ah, it's alright. And it prompted me to a bit of silliness: http://shpws.me/M9cqClymAngus wrote:And yes this is to be read in a comical tone....

Re: Get Giles on his bike!
I have only just seen this thread! Giles - I can't recall if we've spoken on this board in the past (I've been around on the boards a bit, but only a bit) - how's it going with the bike, please?

Re: Get Giles on his bike!
It's going really well!
I'm able to get to the supermarket and back without having to take a bus, and I've been able to ride out along the towpaths to the extent that I'm training to become a volunteer towpath ranger with the Canal and River Trust. My first long ride came sooner than I expected though! https://www.facebook.com/aegidian/posts ... 7476437372
All in all, it's pretty much everything I hoped for, maybe even a little better than that.

Thank you again.

I am glad to hear it, and thank you for the video. However, I feel the use of some sort of fuel injector, starting at about 0:50, is probably unwise! There's a close call with a van at one point, for one thing . .
Thanks too for the boating video. I was thinking of hiring a canal boat myself. (I live in Essex.)

Update. Cripes, there seems to be nowhere to hire boats for holidays on the Lee and Stort anymore!
Ah well. There's always Birmingham.

When visiting friends living near Peterborough back in 1992 they took me to their canalboat they were having built... might not have to go as far as the black country...lol
