F6 chart stuff...

Post by Cody »

Load a save with a long route set, and the first time you hit F6 it zooms to the destination area rather than the current location.
Wouldn't the latter be preferable? It would for me - been nagging away at me for ages. Can it be changed, and if so, should it be?

With a route set and F6/F7 set to the home system, peruse the details of a parcel contract, then return to F6/F7, and the focus has switched to the destination system.

I'm running the latest nightly (1.83.0.6752-160423-c863b45), and I'd swear it wasn't doing this before.

Thanks! There may be something else, but Terrastorage seems to be down, so I can't check.

Pulled out of Eded main (bound for Ladire), hitched a lift to Beatle, then jumped straight through to Erenra - and F7 was still on Eded.
It should move along to each new home system, yes? First time I've noticed it (running latest nightly), so it may be a one-off.

With a route set, F6 zoomed-in on the current system, the blue ring likewise, switch to 'no route' via Shift+6 and the focus jumps to about halfway between the current and destination systems. I don't think it was doing that before. As usual, running the latest nightly.

Sigh. If only my Dad hadn't bought me that ZX81 we wouldn't be having this bother...

Anyway, fixed on tonight's build.

<sniggers> It's a funny old game, Saint! If only my dad hadn't bought me that slipstick, who knows where I'd be!

I seem to recall causing Kaks a few headaches with chart stuff - all good fun. <chortles>

That incredibly useful blue ring... I don't suppose there's any way the distance to the beringed system could be displayed, perhaps on F7... is there?

Something like this?

Image

The distance is the route distance if you have a route selected. If you've no route selected it just shows the straight distance with no time.
