How can I turn off the irritating music when in flight (not when docking)?

I'm sorry if I can't help you, but as far as I'm concerned I don't hear any music in flight. I use both 1.82 (stable) and 1.83 (repository) windows binaries. Maybe something is wrong with my version. Which one are you using? (Win/Linux/Mac)

You could try turning off music for good in the game options menu located in the F2 menu and see if that helps(, but I guess you already tried that).

Maybe the music came with an OXP? Any OXPs (this includes OXZs) installed?

Edit: Also: A threat title "Music" doesn't tell much about that threat. Something like "Help. Can't turn that in flight music off." might help to get more answers.

I think it is added by an OXP, but I do not know which. If you could post here the contents of your Latest.log file then we can see the list of your OXPs for a guess.

Otherwise you must switch off all music in game options (accessibe in flight if you pause the game with the "p" key then press F2).
