<hums silently>Rolling home, rolling home, rolling home, across the sea, rolling home to good old hamburg, rolling home dear land to see..
SAR is short for Search and Rescue. I live close to the sea on the shore of the northwestern peninsula of Germany (the rest of the country calls us northern lights or fish heads, take your pick) and ships in distress is always part of our life, and nowadays in almost every bigger port there's a SAR station by a special nongovernmental organisation with ships on constant alert in case a trading vessel, private sailor or islanders need help.
Rescue Station OXP's
RRS Group is comparable to our real life
DGzRS for me, so it's an honour for me to fly for them.
The
Escape Pod Locator is quite handy to lock on an emergency beacon of rescue capsules with the ASC.
And to find the needle in the haystack when you have arrived, e.g. in an Asteroid field looking for a blackbox or an escpae pod in outer space, I'm using
Cargo Spotter to find them visually in order to scoop them up.
About the turrets: If you reference "caduceusturret" you have to have either the caddie oxp installed or have to setup a subentity entry in shipdata with exactly this name.
In stock Oolite however is a generic "ballturret" subentity which anyone can use. Either way you have to adapt the position and orientation of the new turrets for every other ship, so they are placed on the Hull and not in the Hull or floating in space around your ship.
