German efficiency

Post by Wildeblood »

The Germans think of everything. They even have a DIN standardized warning sign to remind people to read the fine manual:

And, it's almost legible when shrunk to match the phpBB smilies:  Image. But not quite; natch.

I must admit that I never saw (or noticed) this symbol. Perhaps I'm not a good German...

I do have an Oolite-related purpose here: I suggest a nifty, little OXP project for anyone wanting a nifty, little OXP project would be a HUD component that used shipWillLaunchFromStation to display this:-

- on the HUD then shipLaunchedFromStation to remove it again, while displaying the console message, "Remember to fasten your seatbelt."

Unfortunately there was a fairly good reason for that - they couldn't afford to shake the stage so they had to shake the camera while the actors faked being affected by g-forces, and that's actually quite difficult if you're strapped to a seat.

Hey, Cholmondely, read this.

Best thread ever. This was from the days when this BB still had some life left in it.

So what do you say: which was the worst Star Trek character ever, and why was it Ryker?

Alas,

my fascination with the gazetting of funeral hatchments at Lesser Walsingham on Digebiti precludes any knowledge of such recent matters as Star Trek. Even the identity of this "Ryker"

But, yes. Definitely amusing.

Confession: I did watch some of the very first TV programmes. But none of the others.
