HP - F4

Post by Hullblazer »

Hi all

I want to cycle through the choices on the HUD but don't seem able to select any choices. Whilst I can "Shift+N" ad "b" I cannot flick through the expected array of HUDs because...

...my HP Laptop's F4 is it's "Cast Screen" button and I seem unable to access the Oolite function of "F4" regardless of being in or out of full-screen. Any pointers please?

F4 won't do anything either, when the game is paused. Try in normal flight. Or am I failing to understabd the problem? It seems weird that an F-key is being effectively dsabled by HP laptop-specific functionality.

Did a lil googling and maybe this will help?

Enter the BIOS configuration page (F10 for HP)
look for an "action keys mode" option (under System configuration for HP notebooks)
Once you find it, disable it.
Exit saving changes
Now the F keys should work they way they are supposed to -- and function will require the use of the Fn + F key.

Brilliant - thank you all (esp. Devium)! Now have the HUD I want but can anyone tell me how to get one of the two Comms MFD showing changed for any of the other MFDs I have installed?

You can change what MFD's show while docked in station in the options under 4 key > Hud and MFD selector > MFD setup
