It is in a certain oxp. You can download it from here:

http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Imperi ... 8Oolite%29

... or you can alternatively also download Realistic Shipyards oxp, which's download page you find in my signature, which contains the IC and a few hundred other ships, too.

Have fun 8)

The standalone version is better but looks worse, and vice versa.
I shot him back first. That is to say, I read his mind and fired before he would have fired on me. No, sir, he wasn't a fugitive.

How do you reach that conclusion? The ship model should be the same for both. Your confusion may arise from the fact that there are 2 versions of the IC.

V1: overpowered and badly balanced version with a simpler ship model.

V2: intended to REPLACE V1, more "realistic" ship stats and a more detailed model.

RS has both in it, I understand.

There are two different ship models, and RS uses both.

I find that they both look good. It's a question of personal aesthetics, I guess.

Concerning "realistic" ship stats, I have given up debating that point. If someone wants only variants of the Cobbie MkIII with different visuals, I ask myself what for different ship types anyways?

Game balance is not if everything stays as it is, but if NPCs and players have about equal footing, with a little bias towards the players as it is a game.

But, suffice it to say, Selezen's original version (and he's the author, he decides which is which) is the new one and supersedes the old one. With RS or in the future OSE, you get more variants of this ship type. And that's that.

Everyone can choose to use the original version or the mega-ship-pack with everything in. That's the purpose of oxps.

Don't get angry, guys. It's a question of taste. In german there is a saying: Tastes and slaps in the face are all different. So let's agree to disagree on the former and not go on to the later

Cheers

I planned to make the IC my next ship. Downloaded the OXP quite some time ago, put it in my AddOns folder, but never seen an IC and never have been able to buy one. What's up?

Have you checked the log? It is quite an old oxp, maybe there is some problem. (0olite/oolite.app/Logs/Latest.log)...

There are some entries, but looks like they are not related to the IC. (Gotta check which extensions cause the trouble). Extension is recognized by oolite.

You need a system with at least techlevel 11 to buy one.
Beware: the big wings can easily hit the bottom of the dock during landing.

wow this is an old post.
I don't fly the IC anymore but love it when I meet one. And now that it's been mentioned, I do see quite a few.
I like to shoot off the wing mounted lasers first.
Think it's the only ship I've met where you can do that.

Don't remember the last time I seen one for sale though.
But then I don't often peruse the ship yards.
LOOK OUT!!!
OOPS..
"Press Space" Commander
If you do not see "Press Space" more often than you want.. Your not trying!

There's a variant of Griff's chopped Krait with subentities that can be shot off, including its wing-mounted lasers!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

So, what happens then? :)
The funny thing is: Shortly after that post the ICs suddenly started to appear in the game. Haven't changed any addons, so who knows what's going on :)

Still, decided on a switch to the Caduceus first. Maybe I'll add an IC later, to populate my hyperspace hangar.
