Selected system versus route information?

Selected system versus route information?
Would it be possible, when you have a long-distance route set in the Navigation Computer, to have F7 pull up the data on the next system along your route, and not the final destination you have targeted? As it stands if you want detailed info on the next planet in your route you have to cancel that route and target the planet in the computer prior to hitting F7. It would be a bit helpful on long trips to be able to have a closer peek at the planets along your way and not just the terminus.
Reports of my death have been greatly underestimated.

Re: Selected system versus route information?
There is a branch on github called ANA_info, which contains a feature that allows one to cycle the F7 screen through all systems along a programmed route, using "<" and ">", so the idea is already there. I think it's not fully ready for merging with the mainline though, yet.

Excellent - I asked for this a while back.another_commander wrote:... so the idea is already there.

KInda connected to route info, so...
... on the long-range chart, parcel/contract destination systems are marked with a red cross. Could those systems have their names displayed?

More importantly...could they have displayed the deadline of the contract(s) leading there so you can judge under how much time pressure you are ?Cody wrote:on the long-range chart, parcel/contract destination systems are marked with a red cross. Could those systems have their names displayed?
And is it perhaps not difficult to make the starting point of a route calculation loose so the player can freely set it to something else than the current system ? That way one can calculate the time needed/the distance between 2 arbitrary systems. Very useful for complicated contract planning. As of now, I can know this only because I've been there and know the systems, or out of experience.

Don't need that - too much clutter!Anonymissimus wrote:...could they have displayed the deadline of the contract(s) leading there so you can judge under how much time pressure you are ?

Use Oolite Interactive Map: click on the start then shift+click on the target system.Anonymissimus wrote:calculate the time needed/the distance between 2 arbitrary systems.

A handy tool, is that - but it's an out-of-game thingy!Norby wrote:Use Oolite Interactive Map: click on the start then shift+click on the target system.

Seems it can only calculate by minimizing the number of jumps instead of minimizing travel time ? Almost useless then, sorry (unless I'm missing something) ?Norby wrote:Use Oolite Interactive Map: click on the start then shift+click on the target system.Anonymissimus wrote:calculate the time needed/the distance between 2 arbitrary systems.

Click on the travel line to switch the mode. For more info there is a bit hidden help button in the top center region.Anonymissimus wrote:Seems it can only calculate by minimizing the number of jumps instead of minimizing travel time ?

Re: Selected system versus route information?
Or displaying only the deadline of that contract that has the tightest one, from all of those leading to that destination ? Perhaps including OXP ones such as from rescue stations.Cody wrote:Don't need that - too much clutter!Anonymissimus wrote:...could they have displayed the deadline of the contract(s) leading there so you can judge under how much time pressure you are ?
