Gotta say...
... Reading the posts in here brings a smile to my heart; very little 'bashing', lots of constructive posts and everyone seems to get on...
Only found this game a few days ago and I'm already logging some silly hours on it reminiscing playing the original on my very first home computer (Yip, I bought an Acorn Electron, back in the day)
What an amazing piece of software this is. The combat is spot on, the visuals are more very impressive and to have managed to hold on to the 'feel' of the original so authentically just makes me happy beyond words.
(TL:DR - Love this game to pieces!)

Yep, it has that old magic - in spades! Welcome aboard, Commander!Juggoire wrote:... to have managed to hold on to the 'feel' of the original so authentically...
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Botheration, clearly I'm not holding up my end of the driveling and pointless criticism!Juggoire wrote:... Reading the posts in here brings a smile to my heart; very little 'bashing', lots of constructive posts and everyone seems to get on...
You there! That font's clearly substandard, and how dare you use those punctuation marks!
Right, I feel better now.
Welcome, Commander, may your hull never be encrusted with space barnacles and your Witchspace jumps never shift you to an alternate reality where trumbles rule the Earth. Happy flying!

Re: Gotta say...
Welcome toda boards Cmdr Juggoire,
An Acorn Electron, mm that takes me back, was my third TDM (This Damn Machine).
First was Sinclair ZX Spectrum with 2 brothers we wore it out pretty fast then Commo64 second hand
The electron was coz I couldn't afford the wiz bang 128k job which made the 64k pretty cheap.
Careful with some of the oxp/oxz's you add, some can be more that a little deadly.
I always recon, the best way to find them is to play them.

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Well we do disagree but we are so frightfully civilized about it.
Also people round these parts don't try to be something they're not.
I'm ok at art and design, I'm not a good coder.
If anyone tried to run a line of bull, it would be quickly called out, round here from people who know.

Yes, welcome! I've been an Ooliteer for a full year now, and it never gets old. There's always something new after each witchjump, and I don't mean jumpscares. That'd be a great OXP idea, btw.
<salutes> Oolite forever!!!

Re: Gotta say...
I found the comments in this thread quite amusing. Nice banter!
I haven't been on the boards for a while. It is good to be reminded of the spirit of this forum (especially after visiting others ones, or at least Reddit; much of the Internet could learn something from us, I think - even if I do say so myself).

Well, that witch is very silly, but nicely drawn. And I've just download the, er, Tin of Spam OXP. (Reminds me of the . . Giant Space Pizza OXP. Dearie me.)
