Hi all,
I know there has been several threads about the PovrayPlanets OXP, but so far I couldn't find my answer on them and so I hope you won't mind me posting this.
According to http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/PovrayPlanets_OXP, I downloaded the 8 texture files and 1 configuration file from the Google Drive but I don't really know exactly how to install them. Previously, all my OXP have been installed via the in-game menu and so I have never had to bother with anything else. So does anyone know any set of concrete instructions on how to install this very OXP?
Thanks a lot,
Gilberto

Hi Gilberto..
Ordinary OXPs, (as opposed to the more modern OXZ) need to be unzipped and copied into the AddOns folder of your Oolite installation.
That location varies depending on whether you're using Windows, Mac or Linux. The easiest way would be for you to check the wiki page linked to below, and scroll down to the section labelled "Installing an OXP" for instructions on how to unzip and install the OXP correctly. See also the immediately following section labelled "Locating your AddOns folder".

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

@Diziet Sma Thanks a lot for your reply, it was indeed as easy as placing the folders ending with .oxp into my ~/.Oolite/AddOns directory! What made me confused was that this was not only the first time I installed an extension manually, but also because I found the wiki page of Povray Planets a bit confusing regarding an outdated base OXP. Anyway, now it's all working with this stunning extension!
I really appreciate your help.
Take care!
Gilberto

You shouldn't need the Config file - just the eight texture files.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!
