Oolite ships in Alite: Help...

Post by Stardust »

Hi,

Alite is coming soon (Oolite for Android; see here or visit the homepage here).

I'd like to include several of the Oolite ships distributed in expansion packs and therefore I'd like to ask the authors for their (explicit) permission: Most of the ships are released under CC, but I really don't want to use anything that isn't mine without asking :).
Problem is: I don't have the necessary information... I downloaded all those ships from the wiki, using the alphabetical ship list and I then searched the read me for contact information; but I found very little.

Can you help out on the details, please?
Here are the ships in question:

Code: Select all

Author Screen name - Original Ship Name - Alite Name - Author name
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
?? - Adder Mk II - Gopher - ??
                     - Mosquito Trader - Indigo - ??
                     - Jabberwocky - Dugite - ??
                     - TIE-Fighter - TIE-Fighter - ??
                     - Tiger - Lyre - ??
ADCK - Eagle Mk IV - Rattlesnake - Michael Francis
Captain Beatnik - Coluber Pitviper - Harlequin - Robert Triflinger [E-Mail known]
Wyvern & Clym Angus - Kirin - Yellowbelly - ??
Galileo - Huntsman - Mussurana - Eric Walsh
Murgh - Bandy-Bandy Courier - Coral - ??
                     - Cat - Cougar - ??
Wolfwood - Drake Mk II - Bushmaster - ??
(If the TIE-Fighter caught your attention --- that's a little surprise, but I won't say more now :))

These ships all exist in addition to the standard ships and the player will encounter them --- at some point :) --- rather frequently.
So, ADCK, Captain Beatnik, Wyvern, ClymAngus, Galileo, Murgh, Wolfwood and the others I couldn't find the name from: Could you please pm me or reply to this thread if you have any questions on how I'd like to use your ship or if you disapprove?

Thanks in advance!

Wolfwood (probably) and ClymAngus (definitely) can be contacted via PM - all the others are MIA, I think.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Well, I contacted everyone on the list (that is, if I found the screen name) and indeed: ClymAngus already replied (and from his side, I'm allowed to use his model! Thanks!!)
Now, hopefully, some of the other artists find this thread :) [Can I make it beep somehow??! :))]

I'll take a look at the texture over the weekend with a nice G&T at our newly acquired Victorian cylinder top writing (and now computing) desk.

Yes, you can make it 'beep'.. just set the thread so that you get notified of new posts.. most OXP authors do this for their OXP threads.
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

:) -- Yeah, I have the notification enabled. What I meant was: "Can I make this post 'beep' in the inbox of the missing artists?" (Tried to make a joke here, obviously I failed... Sorry...)
