Posting images on the Oolite forum

Post by Bugbear »

Hi all, what sites are people using to enable the posting of images in their Oolite forum postings (i.e. via the [url] tags)

What pros and cons have you all found with the various options out there?

Photobucket, for me. I'm not a heavy user, but I can't complain: there is a tendency for it to plaster the (surely by now hopelessly out-of-date?) blinky-flashy "You have 1 new message waiting for you!" banner ads all over the place but the actual mechanics of uploading and linking are pretty easy and straightforward, and seem to work with this forum at least.

For presentation images (ie the screenshots thread), I use Photobucket - barely notice the ads, and it's straightforward to use.
For temporary images (to show a bug etc), I simply use my Box account and link to the pic - even easier.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

A Google (email) account also allows using Google Drive for posting.

Thanks everyone. Photobucket seems like it will be acceptable enough. I like to avoid Google offerings where I can...they have enough of my info already

Another vote for Photobucket - but I use a proxy server program to block advertising.

I did set up an area on my website that could be used to host images for the forum:

http://daftworks.co.uk/oomages/

Still happy for people to use it as long as it's for the forum.
