Expansion download manager no longer works

Post by tonyhippy »

I'm using the latest version of Oolite on a Windows 7 machine (64 bit) and since this version the expansion packs won't download. I get a message like unknown of unknown instead of the file size of the download. The download doesn't happen at all or fails, leaving this in the log:

02:01:05.939 [oxz.manager.error]: Downloaded OXZ does not contain a manifest.plist, has been left in C:\Oolite/oolite.app/GNUstep/Library/Caches/org.aegidian.oolite/Oolite-download.oxz

How can I fix this??

Which OXZ? That usually happens when the file has been removed from the server. Have you checked the downloaded file to see if it is actually an OXZ with missing manifest, or a completely different file?

I've had this happen from time to time when the server itself is doing its nightly backup. It comes back online in about an hour and all is well.
Reports of my death have been greatly underestimated.

As I remember two years ago the wiki downtime was about a half hour every night, but now almost two hours, I think due to the many added data.

Maik, could you ask the wiki owner about the possibilities of shortening the downtime?

I've checked, but couldn't find a way to delete an uploaded file that is no longer needed.
