What happened to the Baddies?

Post by Alex »

I've noticed after I took out a few oxp's/oxz's. Only ones I can think of that may have an effect is commies or anarchies.
Still have deep space pirates but did remove pirate coves.
Any way,
All the baddies have became woosies!!
Before when meeting a bunch of baddies, usually assumed to be pirates, group of 5 or so offenders with a fugitive assumed to be leader, there would be no comms, you knew they would attack and my choice was run or fight.
Only recently noticed that radar shows other ship legal status with coloured flashing flag. Don't remember installing that?
Now
Even when they issue a threat "Drop some stuff and we may let you live" type thing. And I use my usual M.O. for such dead beats, target the fugitive but fire apon the henchers, I get messages "Please leave us alone" ?? and they run away.
This is happening with all the 'baddies'.
I can fly right inamongst them without a shot and they ignore me? I open fire and they will try a few shots but most run pleading??
And these include fugitives!
Seems the only way to get a bit of a scrap going is to attack the navy or galcop.
Oh.. Running 1.80

So no idea what I've done to cause this. Something I took out? Only thing I've added is a graphics card for full graphics detail and BGS oxz.
LOOK OUT!!!

To be fair, perhaps the baddies are now acting like they have something to risk and lose.

Putting on the <Immersion> hat for a moment...if death, or even significant financial ruin was a distinct possibility, wouldn't you exercise some caution, and cut your losses when the stakes get too high?</Immersion>

What sort of ship are you flying? And have you tried installing the [wiki]Skilled NPCs OXP[/wiki]?

Yup Bugbear I tend to get full immersed playing, that's no excuse for baddies running away. That's my job.
5 or 6 baddies on radar.. Oo there's another band of mmm 7 Ouch there's a new pair. They aint shooting each other.
Time to give the beestie her legs.
Yup turn tail and RUN just as fast as beestie can do.. Enough fuel for go faster? Yup. Use that too.
14 or so to one! Yup RUN

Disembodied, I fly a Caddy OMG (NeoCaduceus omega) I did tweak it a little. Was too responsive so tonned down the pitch/roll and upped the top end. Also added 3 cannons to the tail, why they weren't there is the first place?
So you could say it's a little Ubed.
No haven't got Skilled NPC's. They tend to be hard enough when they do fight.
But will try it. Never know, may be fun.
Just hope it's not too many "Press Space" commands.
