Fuel Tank Safety notice.

Post by Potential Debris »

I upgraded a bunch of OXPs today (via the OXP manager) and now I have a "Fuel Tank Safety Notice" when I load my savegame. It says "press space commander" but pressing space does nothing. I can't get past it. Closing and reopening the game does nothing.

Can I edit my save file to get rid of this? I'd hate to lose this savegame.

Sounds like one of the various 'fuel tank' addons. Can you uninstall any oxps that add extra fuel tanks and see if that helps?
Reports of my death have been greatly underestimated.

I recently updated ExtraFuelTanks and there is a screen to 'explain' some changes when you first start the game after the upgrade. The message is a one-shot - it should be removed on pressing 'space' and should appear only once.
Is this the OXP?

Which reminds me... <heads over to the thread>
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Yeah that's the one. Pressing space doesn't clear the message. I editted the save file to set the Aux_tank to zero, then awarded myself an additional 50000 credits to buy a new one.
This worked fine until I bought a new tank. I am immediately presented with the Fuel Tank Safety Notice of Death again. Space bar will not clear it.

That's odd. It was tested as OK before release, and with approaching 400 downloads something obvious like this should have shown up before. This makes me think it might be a problem unique to you, and my first thought is a 'broken' download. Try un-installing it, then re-installing either via the manager or manually. Let me know if that cures it.

OK, just tried that: Uninstalled from expansion manager, returned to menu, closed game, reopened game, reinstalled from expansion manager, loaded savefile, FTSNoD. :(

Didn't work? OK.
I presume that you were previously using v1.4.1. Could you possibly post (or PM) me your latest log and the save-file please. I have no idea what's happening, but this may point me in the right direction.
