On a related topic, is there such a thing as ‘gas mining’ or ‘atmosphere mining’ in ED, a la Bespin? There would be another slang set to go with that.

Speaking of fuel scooping - is that the only way to refuel in-flight? The old FE2/FFE way of transferring fuel out of a can of hydrogen in the hold doesn't work on my current ship, but given the equipment it came with that could just be because I don't have a Basic Refuelling Pipe installed yet.

I don't think that's possible yet. I'd have heard if it was (I imagine many explorers would have an emergency supply as a result)

Thanks Mossfoot. You might want to do a quick formatting scan of the list, 'Tick Hole is attached to 'These Parts' and it looks like 'Licker' is missing from 'Rock Licker/Rock Hopper'. Thanks for including 'Fly Catching', I quite like that term (from the NZ slang terms list).

Mind you, I don't exactly know which is 'my way' - I'm kinda meandering around aimlessly, learning on the job.

I'd actually meant to get rid of "rock licker" because I don't want to get too bogged down in alternate terms (which is starting to happen, I'll need to start being far more selective ).

I didn't know the word 'stravaig', but the 'eye out for an opportunity' thing reminds me of a Scot I once knew: 'Open window! Very handy - I'll just nip in!'
