Been running a lot of cargo contracts. There was one where the contract was in amber and not the normal yellow. I left the station and was attacked, which seemed weird, I've been plying an honest trade. Then on one entry to the station I had to pay a fine.
Is this normal or was it one of the OXP I installed recently? Been installing a bit OTT.

Re: Cargo contracts
If I'm not mistaken, amber (orange?) merely means that it's not deliverable on-time given the fewest number of jumps. You can still make it, you just have to make more short jumps.
As far as why you were attacked, who knows? All kinds of piratical weirdos do ill-considered things, even within the station's aegis. Might, or might not be from an oxp.

Re: Cargo contracts
You mostly see contracts in Amber if you dock, have your ship serviced, and then look at contracts. They are generated as you arrive in system, I think, so the more delay, the shorter the time left. They occasionally turn up at other times, but it's rare.
Re: Cargo contracts
Been attacked a few times now just leaving the station. Only happend when I bought new ship. Oh well we have enough gear now to defend myself. Just got to pay more attention when I leave.

Re: Cargo contracts
Some will probably consider it cheating worse than deflated balls, but I like the Police IFF Scanner oxp, as it lets you know approximately who will be the next prick to need a good shootin'.

I'm a big fan of that OXP as well.fronclynne wrote:Some will probably consider it cheating worse than deflated balls, but I like the Police IFF Scanner oxp, as it lets you know approximately who will be the next prick to need a good shootin'.
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
Re: Cargo contracts
ah. I think it's more religious thing. The other ship is clean, then rant about some religious thing and starts shooting.
Maybe I'm not hailing back to other ships when they preach?

Re: Cargo contracts
That sounds like Griff's Hognose - some of them are piloted by crazy religious freaks!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Strangely I've been killing a load of those recently
