Re: BGS - The BackgroundSet
Some of the BGS sounds in 1.10.1 and 1.10.2 (OXZs) don't play (e.g. engine up, engine down, chatter).
Is there any new setting to look into (by simply replacing with 1.9.3 they come back), or a remainder of the 4 a.m. refactoring ?

Re: BGS - The BackgroundSet
I'm having a spot of bother installing BGS 1.10.3 - tried several times:
I hope the OXP variant listed above works, as having uninstalled the previous OXZ, I no longer have it on this machine.
Code: Select all
21:58:22.094 [oxz.manager.error]: Downloaded OXZ does not have the same identifer and version as expected. This might be due to your manifests list being out of date - try updating it.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Strange. The OXZ works, not sure what went wrong with the manifest. Will look at it when I get back home.Cody wrote:I'm having a spot of bother installing BGS 1.10.3 - tried several times:I hope the OXP variant listed above works, as having uninstalled the previous OXZ, I no longer have it on this machine.Code: Select all

Should have read that bit about the OXP variant more carefully. Yes, it is exactly the same.

Re: BGS - The BackgroundSet
It had me scratching my head - but the OXP variant is working fine anyway (and that's easier to tweak, tbh).

Which reminds me. I spotted a bug in the way that QBomb code is implemented. Assumes plists for the AI. Not correct for 1.79+

Re: BGS - The BackgroundSet
Figured it out. The URL was wrong. I did UPDATE it. Pushing to 1.10.4 even though there isn't anything different.Tricky wrote:Strange. The OXZ works, not sure what went wrong with the manifest. Re: BGS - The BackgroundSet
Nothing changed. manifest WAS set to the correct URL but somehow messed up. Checked twice and it is now correct.

Re: BGS - The BackgroundSet
There are 1 or 2 .oggs that need to be squashed from stereo to mono. Wish that there was an easy way to check the tags. Audacity seems to load a separate instance for each file rather than a separate window and Explorer just doesn't report that info.Cody wrote:Muchas gracias! Here... have a cookie! As for updated .oggs that 'sound right', come one, come all... Help me out.

I have Cygwin, will have to check if I have the ‘file’ command.
Some of the files need to stay stereo for the ambience.
Re: BGS - The BackgroundSet
After the update it works like a charm, thanx!
