Science/science fiction reference.

Post by Paradox »

Bear with me here... };]

As some of you know, and some of you don't, I just started my first "real" story in the fiction section of the board here.

Anyway, I found myself making references to things such as stimtabs and medbeds, and I began to wonder just where, in the deep dark dusty corners of my brain, did these references come from? (I think, in my case, it was Harry Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat series.)

After a quick Google search, I stumbled upon this fantastic site...
http://www.technovelgy.com/

I have yet to deeply explore this place, but at first glance, it looks like a treasure trove for those of you who write stories, and find yourself groping for some technological tidbit to use.

Now there's a series it's high time I read again! :D
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
