Spinward Traveller (for fans of the game or SF in general)

Post by mossfoot »

I saw Traveller mentioned elsewhere, and realized there's probably a number of fans of that game on this site. Even if not maybe you'd like to see an SF show about traders in the space lanes in general, there is a Kickstarter you might be interested in. I figured I'd re-mention it in its own thread here :)

Marc Miller himself is involved!

If any of the live action clips fail to impress, remember they are proof-of-concept only, not actual footage. They'll be making real sets to work with if it goes through. But given the passion here for fan based projects stretching the boundaries, I'm going to bet this will get people excited regardless. If you still have doubts, I have some arguments in its favor here:

Looks like the show got funded. Will be neat to see a Traveller-based pilot made :D Of course the more funding they get, the more they can put into that budget of theirs :D

Two days to go on this (but it's funded! Yay!) But I found this interesting thing that possibly ties Traveller in with Firefly

Wow.. that's an awful lot of "coincidences".. and when it comes to coincidences, so far as I'm concerned, there ain't no such animal..

seems a long bow....... still these things get into our subconscious and come out as influences we are not aware of.

in the end i dont really care what influenced Firefly, I still loved the show....damn shame it got axed....
Arthur: OK. Leave this to me. I'm British. I know how to queue.

Yep.. especially the things from our youth, as in this case..

Nonetheless, it's pretty cool that both Elite and Firefly were inspired, in part, by the same RPG.. and I agree.. in general, the better the sci-fi show, the sooner it gets axed. We live in a very warped world.

Only 11 hours to go on this one. It's funded, but I added my 2 cents (times 1500) to support it (and get the eventual blu-ray). I really hope it makes it's next stretch goal, though. I'd rather see a 44 minutes pilot made than 22.

...To be replaced by a dull, boring, brain numbingly stupid, low budget "reality" show, which goes on and on forever.

At least Dr. Who managed to defeat those odds.

Well I'm glad it's funded at least. Sure we'd all like to have a second season of Firefly with a decent budget, but I'd like to give these guys a chance to impress us. :D
