Accepted a mission to deliver documents from the RSS to main Galcop station. Was fired upon by several ships that my targeting system said were "clean", but since they were firing on me, I blew them up. Next thing I knew a Galcop Viper was firing on me. I checked my status & was listed as "offender". I went ahead and docked, saved, exited the game, then cleaned my status by editing the oolite-save file.
Is this a bug in the OXP? I am quite sure that my status was "clean" when I exited the RSS, and I didn't fire on any ship that didn't fire on me first. Thanks

No, entirely as intended, assuming that's the mission I think it is. (Though the cop showing up at just the wrong time to see you opening fire on some poor defenceless ships flown by upstanding pillars of the community was just an unfortunate coincidence)Holmes177 wrote:Is this a bug in the OXP?

So, I should not engage those "clean" ships that are firing at me? Just fire up the injectors & head for the Galcop station? Correct?

If there are no witnesses (a witness could be off your scanner, btw), you can engage them - otherwise, hit the injectors!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Killing them isn't required to complete the mission, but it might make things easier. (If there's a cop around when they next attack, wait for them to land a hit on you before retaliating - then they'll get the Offender status and you can kill them with no harm to your record)

OK, thanks, I'll give that a try.
