Re: Rogue Frigates
Spoiler tags would be preferable, and simpler - but that's up to Giles (or Jens).
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

"like" buttons would be nice too......Diziet Sma wrote:Me too.. I've requested that spoiler tags be added to the BB so we wouldn't need to use ROT13, but haven't heard a word in response.. <shrug>Cody wrote:Yeah, I should have guessed... but I dislike ROT13 for various reasons.
Arthur: OK. Leave this to me. I'm British. I know how to queue.
OR i could go with
Arthur Dent: I always said there was something fundamentally wrong with the universe.

I found 'em and I killed 'em! I got a bit bored searching, headed out East and did a bit of a trading trip and when I came back there they were.
BOOM! I'm back, baby!
I still can't see how you get across the Rift, though. I'm going North!

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Re: Rogue Frigates
That little tale reminds me - can a marooned NPC follow a player's wormhole out of interstellar space?
I know IS behaviour has changed somewhat, and I haven't tried to make that happen since.

Re: Rogue Frigates
Thanks for that. Progress of sorts!
I managed to induce a mis-jump and found myself in the middle of an interstellar fleet action against a couple of Thargoid ships. Once they were dealt with I buzzed around hoovering the drones waiting for one of the capital ships to open a jump gate that I could follow them through.
And I waited.
And I waited.
And as you've probably noticed from my earlier posts patience isn't my strongest .....well, strength, so after a couple of minutes I decided to dock and refuel at one of the behemoths and jump the Rift myself.
Except that by the time I launched again the Behemoth had jumped back to Maedrebe and I'd blown my chance.

If you don't have the patience, drop-tanks are your friend.

Next time, Cody, I'll be more Zen than a Liberator.
(70s UK TV references ahoy)
Now my problem seems to be the Soin clan.

Have to admit to being quite proud to have been wiped out by The Liberator in a bit of a dust up outside a space bar. Rather shocked to see the old girl still flying. I thought she'd bought the farm about 1981.

Have you seen that they're talking about an updated remake again?

Re: Rogue Frigates
Yes, they should be able to - though most of them currently won't. I'll fix that up...Cody wrote:That little tale reminds me - can a marooned NPC follow a player's wormhole out of interstellar space?

Re: Rogue Frigates
Excellent! I'll be heading towards the Great Rift tomorrow - time for another crossing.

Re: Rogue Frigates
That will make Rift-crossing a bit easier on the conscience.. no more need to shoot up the "victim" in order to save their life.. will only need to keep 'em alive 'til the Thargs are dealt with.cim wrote:Yes, they should be able to - though most of them currently won't.
