The Elite Wiki seems to be down. Does anybody have more information?

No, no info - but at least the back-up Wiki is up.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

A wiki update went awry. Purging the cache during an update caused the DB to lock itself :s

While I try to get a hold of winston to restart the DB, please use the backup wiki, as Cody suggested. Sorry for the inconvenience...

Edit: it seems to work again

Back down. Can't install OXZ's because of this.

It's working fine for me..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

I think there is about a half hour downtime every night somewhere near 2am.

In this case you can read the backup wiki, and the oxz download links are the same (except hostname), so you can download by hand if something is really urgent.

Maybe the oxz manager can do a second try from the backup if the main wiki is not responding and core developers decide to make this function.

Incidentally download counters are not working in the backup (show template codes). If the oxz manager will use the backup wiki also then this will be more important than now.

I know about the the backup wiki (have it bookmarked in the same folder as the regular wiki).

Using the backup for fallback for OXZ's is a good idea but the counters would need to be resynched with the main wiki.

Thanks, I will fix that.

Currently, there is only a hand-rolled one-way sync, where I copy changes from the primary wiki server to the backup (DB and files). Mucking with two-way sync would add complexity that I would like to avoid.

What I could do is not sync the counter information from the primary but let the backup maintain its own counters. Then you would get the total by adding both. I don't expect many downloads from the backup wiki, so I guess ignoring its counters wouldn't distort the numbers badly.
