Rogue Frigates

Post by Cmdr Nellers »

I had my first success against a Rogue Frigate tonight.

Previously I've always taken the discretion-is-the-better-part-of-valour approach and run for the hills but tonight I got brave.

Instead of running away on injectors I just ran at normal speed and gave it full military lasers. After a couple of cycles of overheating and cooling I could see his leaking plasma and he broke off pursuit so I turned and finished him off. Only 95 credits bounty, though. I expected more. Then again, the glory will last forever. If only I could have worked out how to get a screenshot!

Welcome aboard - for screenshots hit shift+8 (*).
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

And now I'm stuck searching Tiared for a sports team to splash. Orbiting lonely planets is losing it's appeal. Any tips, beyond just being patient?

I know zilch about sports teams, but if you're at Tiared and bored, why not take a trip across the Great Rift?

Well now there's a challenge. There clearly is a way to get across that gap but I've not got a clue how!

Have to admit that I'd assumed that you might Galaxy Jump into the isolated corner bit randomly sometimes. Obviously there's more to it than that. Maybe if I can work out how to find that Hockey Team I'll be able to work out the way to jump further than 7LY.

Or maybe not. I'm not actually that clever!

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

I realise it's really rock but for the purposes of the demonstration, it's close enough)

Yeah, I should have guessed... but I dislike ROT13 for various reasons.

Me too.. I've requested that spoiler tags be added to the BB so we wouldn't need to use ROT13, but haven't heard a word in response.. <shrug>
