Bounties

Post by djbully »

Well I'd just like to start by thanking the developers of this superb game !
I have been crying out for something like this for years! I cant believe that I only just found it! I have just made a donation on the website :D

Anyway in the original elite ( on the Amiga at least) i'm sure that when you targeted any ship if it had a bounty then it would tell you once the ship is ID'd. Unless i'm missing something this isnt happening for me, I only find out if there is bounty or not once I have destroyed the ship. Does anybody know anything about this?

Thanks Again and Keep up the marvelous Work !

Bully :D

You do get notification of a targeted ship's legal status with the Scanner Targeting Enhancement, which is a very worthwhile purchase.

If it's an Offender or Fugitive, it'll have a price on its head, as will its pilot.

pretty sure my C64 Elite didn't have this feature, but you mention a tempting idea. It would be cool to buy a BountyHunter's ScanBox to get the perp's stats. ;)

Hmmm, I do remember the Amiga version having the standard ship ID that Oolite has, where it just tells you the ship model. Do not remember ever having any indication even to legal status though. Not thinking of the Radar Mapper in FE2/FFE are you? That gives bounty cost...
