Have you seen these cool NASA websites?

Post by JazHaz »

Firstly the Deep Space Network website. http://eyes.nasa.gov/dsn

This site gives you real time info on the antennas around the world and showing which spacecraft each one is communicating with. At the time of writing, two of the antennas were in communication with the Voyager 1 spacecraft, which is currently 18.99 billion km away, and the signal takes 1.47 DAYS to reach us. So cool!

Secondly is the ISS Space Station Live website. http://spacestationlive.nasa.gov/

This site was released because of the freedom of information laws. It gives a lot of info, and technical readouts from the station. You can see what the active controllers at the Mission Control in Houston can see. And info on what the crew are up to. Very interesting, I was just looking at the status of the station's cooling systems that caused an emergency spacewalk a few months ago when it went wrong.
