Are they available for Fer-de-Lance NG?
Re: External views
yes, easily if you do it yourself. copy and paste the custom_views lines (from the last shipdata or like here) into the fdlNG shipdata.ArkanoiD wrote:Are they available for Fer-de-Lance NG?

I fly one and i like it.. Unfortunately NPCs laser accuracy is almost unaffected by evasive maneuvers which are that effective against us humans.. But it is smaller than Cobra and so less likely to be hit by enemy fire.Rimbaud wrote:This is another silly ship, which is game-unbalancing IMHO. They're very hard to shoot in combat as they can burn away at a ridiculous speed.

Just got external views working on the PC. Nice one! A great improvement. Always nice to admire your own ship!
I found I had to edit both the shipdata.plist files for each ship, and also the keyconfig.plist file to tell it about the 'v' key... thus...
<key>key_custom_view</key><integer>118</integer>
Cheers,
Drew.

You should not have had to do that... External views were working in the previous version already and no change to the keyconfig was needed.
But, of course, only a few of the ships had the external views activated. There should be more now...

Hmmm, I been blasting them all over the show, same as Boy Racers, just don`t let them get away.Rimbaud wrote:This is another silly ship, which is game-unbalancing IMHO. They're very hard to shoot in combat as they can burn away at a ridiculous speed.
The act of talking b*ll*cks whilst waving one's arms about wildly is referred to as testiculation.
Hm, I tried to test the new external view with my Cobra Mk III but it does not seem to work. Pressing the v-key accomplishs nothing.
Edit: Never mind, my first download was not 1.65 but 1.62. I downloaded the .dmg again and now all is working. Seems that one of the links given on the download page isn't updated to 1.65 yet.

..and it is not *that* game-unbalancing. 600Kcr, no missiles, 2t cargo, poor pitch, no shield hardening - it is just Ok.Rimbaud wrote:This is another silly ship, which is game-unbalancing IMHO. They're very hard to shoot in combat as they can burn away at a ridiculous speed.
But it is - still - the fastest ship in the Universe
