Jumping up - my Oolite only sees the Intel HD card and not the Radeon HD 6630, and I can't get the Catalyst Control Center to cooperate...

That would need a lot of sound buffering to cover all of it. What exactly is your setup, regarding cards, monitors, etc? Is the Intel card actually just an on-board chip? Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
