[Solved] Trying to get latest version of Oolite running.

Post by Commander Wilmot »

I was having issues a while back with Oolite. In this topic: https://bb.oolite.space/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12799
I got busy and yesterday came back to Oolite, and re-installed it with version 1.77.1. It fixed my weird start problem, but now the game won't load with oxps installed. My latest log from the last time my computer successfully loaded it complains about the griff shipset addition (I have 1.22).

Do I have an old version or what is going on?

Ensure that Oolite is not set to strict mode, and do you have the Griff's resources OXP installed? The addition OXP (should be 1.2.25) requires that.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Yes, and strict mode should be off, but I can't check because the game won't even start. The splash pops up and the game then goes to not responding.

A long shot - try starting Oolite with the -nosplash option, as described here.

Ok, I will try that. I started a game with wolfwoods classics installed, however. It is with griff's shipset, it's resource pack, and the alloy and wreckage pack that issues occur, at least from what I have narrowed down.

What does Latest.log say? That'll at least narrow down where in the startup sequence it crashes.

Have you tried starting the game without OXPs? Have you checked that you have Griff's ships correctly placed?

Yes, starting the game without oxps was in the original post. It would load without oxps, but with oxps it crashed. I then narrowed it down to griff's shipset and accessories, because it refused to load when they where in the oxp folder even when there was no others in it.

Ok, something was wrong with griff's resources and I need to reinstall it. Thanks for your help and patience.
