Retrospective of Chris Foss... ahhh!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Re: Retrospective of Chris Foss... ahhh!
Wasn't sure where to post this but Eurogamer.net have an article on a fantastic looking game called No Man's Sky which looks like it's being heavily influenced by Chris Foss's paintings

Only 4 people in the team working on this! It's a procedurally generated universe type thing, the you tube clip shows underwater sequences, some fab looking elite like ships and some space combat, the music in the video is really great too, i saw a post mention that it's called 'Debutante' from a band called 65daysofstatic if you want to track it down
edit: hope these pics work

Looks beautiful! It seems to be a game for the new generation of consoles, though ... still, if even small bits of the games industry starts sitting up and taking notice of what can be done with procedural generation – where you can actually explore and find things that nobody else, not even the games designer, knows about - then we might be at the beginning of something pretty cool indeed ...

Thanks for posting that, Griff - it led to a happy half-hour trawling through Chris Foss' sci-fi artwork (again).
