Re: Kepler finds Earth-size planets commonplace
We always suspected that Earth-sized and composition type planets would be common place - given how "normal" our sun is - there will even be lots of Earth sized planets in those suns Goldilocks zones, the real trick for a planet with a molten iron core (good for generating useful magnetic fields) is something to stop the planet wobbling too much - and - while our Earth-Moon system can't be unique, it will probably be much rarer than all the other factors required for giving "life" (as we know it?) a good start...
