Re: ELITEMEET - November 2nd 2013
OK, I know I'm going to catch up with A_C and Gimi tomorrow - who else?
Planning to arrive at check-in time (2pm).
Drop a note below this one if you fancy catching up for a beer (or tell me where's the best place for a beer before I arrive and I'll head that way!)

They closed the bar unexpectedly early - nobody was drunk enough to be compromised - however I will upload the few pictures I did take, later.

Re: ELITEMEET - November 2nd 2013
I'm now back and I can tell you it was a lovely, fun evening. Lots of laughs and a good time overall, especially the singing part at the end (for the record, I still hum that dang tune too often for its own good). Oh yeah, I did manage to miss my flight the following day due to oversleeping, for maximum excitement. As for pics, some have already started surfacing at the Frontier forums. Not long before we see some here too, I guess.
DaddyHoggy and Gimi, great meeting up again. See you soon at the next meet .

On a Saturday? Are they TRYING to go out of business, or something?DaddyHoggy wrote:They closed the bar unexpectedly early
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Ha, they were probably just alarmed by the bunch of weirdos who had descended on them, and shut up early on safety groundsDiziet Sma wrote:On a Saturday? Are they TRYING to go out of business, or something?DaddyHoggy wrote:They closed the bar unexpectedly early

It was only 1am in the morning, we even tried going to the hotel next door. Manager wasn't having it.

Damn.. if an Aussie pub tried to close that early on a Saturday night, there'd be a riot!

Perhaps they ran out of liquor?

I think perhaps they just decided that we weren't coming back - and when we did - they ran away and hid - until we pinned somebody down in reception...

I don't know about that. I think that honour goes to the Gentleman who didn't take my post as a joke.drew wrote:And Gimi you're now infamous throughout the Elite-i-verse...

I'm very glad he took it literally though.
I'm getting to read a lot of Elite fiction next year because of that.
