Hi, I noticed when I updated from version 1.76 to 1.77 (and now with 1.77.1) that instead of the saving, loading and file-path navigation being done in-game (on the screen with the black background) I am instead getting the standard Mac OS save/load/cancel boxes popping up.
It's not a problem, but the minor immersion-breaking that occurs each time has finally prompted me to ask if this is by design, or something I have accidentally done? Or is it something to do with 1.76 being the stable release?
(Apologies if this has been explained elsewhere, I couldn't find any mention of it)

It’s intentional. The quality of the custom interface just isn’t very good; it used to be used on the Mac in full screen mode only for technical reasons.

If you enable autosave, you could considerably reduce the amount of manual saving necessary.. even down to just once at the end of a session, if you wished.Robin wrote:the minor immersion-breaking that occurs each time has finally prompted me to ask if this is by design, or something I have accidentally done?
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Actually, when playing in full screen mode before 1.77, I always switched to windowed mode when I wanted to save a game.
