Ah, im up in Alice Springs Nice weather... abit too hot though lol
Ahh damn.. I'm jealous as all hell..
I spent 2 years in The Alice, a long time ago.. and of all the places I've been in Oz (which is nearly all of it, at one time or another) the only place I was ever homesick for was Alice Springs.. THE best place in Australia, bar none.
heh lol, ive been in Alice Springs for about 4 years now
And it's nice to hear someone likes Alice most people ive met say its just a Tourist Town or It's To Hot etc etc
lol

Hehehe.. it's one of those places you either love or hate, I've found. I've known people who went there on holiday, phoned the relatives back home and said, "send all our shit up to us and sell the house, we're not coming back!" My brother, on the other hand, couldn't stand the place and left asap.
And I don't care how hot it gets.. it's a dry heat. I'd rather be in Alice @ 40°+ than anywhere on the coast @ 30°.. it's more comfortable. Humidity sucks.
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
Try Darwin (or any place in the tropics) in the 'wet' season.. you'll probably change your mind about that statement PDQ!

<Smivs looks out the window - Sunny Worthing is living up to it's name, and it is very warm as well (although not as hot as Alice Springs, or Melbourne probably.>

Yeh i spent some time up in Darwin, it was like 40 + with like 60-80% humidity or something lol
I actually prefure the colder weather... dunno why :shrugs:
But the heat also means...
SWIMMING! no... not at the sea...
at the Pool or in my case at the water hole! XD

Heh... not quite the tropics, but I've done India during monsoon, so I've got some idea.
As you say though, dry heat is preferable - and I've lived in a few pretty hot places.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Yeah!.. swimming at any of the Gaps beats the pool, any day!

About time I posted here . . . I was an old Elitist from the BBC days (actually did work for Acronsfot on contract for a while - still work in IT) and was playing Christian Pinder's version of Elite for a while - spotted oolite when it first came out but never got "hooked" as it was the early days then forgot about it until I recently stumbled around here and am hooked again. (Yes I know I asid all that in another thread already, but it's an introduction.
Observant peeps might be able to guess who I work for from my Avatar . . . .
