Might be wise. Role "navy-carrier" has been my carrier "role" while I've been working, but I think it's a bit too common. Will probably change to the release version.UK_Eliter wrote:It's the role that singles out these carriers from others that I am interested in. I suppose I'll have to wait for the OXP for definitive details.

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Re: Screenshots
Intriguing!
Hm, what's that secondary station? Some new and fancy version of the Biosphere?

I don't know if this counts as a screenshot but I just encountered my first planetary rings, around Aatenbe in Gal 2 so I decided to capture it.

Rather dramatic, is that - and those rings are cool.

Finally got a close-up shot of an in-flight Medical Anaconda - saved this chappie from a Dart raider while inbound to Erlaened in G2 after one of his Moray Medical Boat escorts raised the alarm.
And here's a shot of the GRS station at Esrasoce with a planet background.

It's pretty damn close to how it appears on my machine, Solo. Have you tried weaving through and around those spires yet?CaptSolo wrote:Added Zieman's habitat [snip] A shame my hardware doesn't do it justice.

You can even thread your way through the 'eyes' of those twirly spires (I gave my habitats a slow rotation too).

Re: Screenshots
I've not posted here for a while, so I thought I'd share some of my current project with you. Like many of you, I have been very impressed with Svengali's new docking tunnel animation, but found that the sudden transition from dock graphics to tunnel animation can be a bit harsh, so I decided to look into addressing this issue.
My solution is to incorporate a facsimile of the tunnel in the back face of the dock, so you are effectively looking down the tunnel all the way in. To this end I have made a new tunnel image, and am currently re-doing all my OXP docks with a graphic of the 'tunnel' built in to the rear face of the dock. On approach (to an 'Accessories' Coriolis station which is the only one I've done so far) you will see this.
However that's just a still of the station approach view.
This video will allow you to see the whole performance. For best results, try pausing the video as it starts and set it to 720p HD on fullscreen. There are a couple of stutters in the video. This actually happened and it might be that the graphics are a bit demanding, which I might need to look at.
This is still a work-in-progress and further improvements can probably be made - feedback is very welcome.
Depending on progress I'm hoping to be able to release updates for all my OXPs which include dockables in the near future.
