I'm feeling pretty stoked right now, having spotted my first in-game Medical Anaconda in Beedbeon in G2 - launching out of station with a full complement of Moray Medical Boat escorts.

Here's a little teaser pic of a Navy Class Carrier. Original by SimonB. I've added some color, flasher lights and normal maps. Carrier has 4 sidewinders as escorts and carries 6 more sidewinders and 3 transporters. Special thing about the carrier are five forward pointing military lasers that deal concentrated damage. After fight with thargoids, the transporters deploy to collect thargons.

Here's a pic from the front. Dock is quite small, A Cobra 3 will totally fill it, so I'm using sidewinders for a reason. Haven't really decided yet which models to use and shall I tweak textures or not. I like that. I think I'll get my Interstellar Tweaks OXP to put some of those carriers into interstellar space in some scenarios (in addition to the chance that, simply as military vessels, they'll turn up anyway) - if that's OK with you (and it would happen - in that explicit way - only if your OXP was installed).spara wrote:After fight with thargoids, the transporters deploy to collect thargons.

Spara I just wanted to say what a fantastic looking ship. Can't wait to download it when it is available.
I especially like the engine cluster
I've been somewhat busy with real life lately however I hope to get back in to developing ships myself soon (I need to get my Arachnid Mk1 released for starters).
You would be welcome to use my Galtech Escort Fighters with your carrier if you want. I designed them specifically for use as carrier based craft so are quite small.
If you do want to reuse them feel free to texture them as you see fit (See the link in my signature strip below if interested).
I especially like the engine cluster

wow, looks amazing! Really fantastic detailing with all those lovely pipes and turrets and stuff, i agree the engines look especially fantastic!

Can't take credit for these. All praise to SimonB. My contribution has been to finish what has been left unfinished long ago . I have added normal maps, coloured the original metallic gray to blueish gray and added some nice blue emission. In addition I have added some static flashers to mimic light bulbs. Intriguing. GalNavy has to do some tests with these nice looking ships to see how they perform in comparison with the cost price. They'll have roles "behemoth", "navy-carrier", and something like "behemoth-thor" depending on the unique name of the carrier. It's the role that singles out these carriers from others that I am interested in. I suppose I'll have to wait for the OXP for definitive details.
