Darkside

Darkside - a radio play by Tom Stoppard, based on Dark Side of the Moon (forty years old - wow), to be broadcast soon.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Reminds me of a quote from Family Guy:

Darkside was rather good - an interesting 'thought experiment'.

Still available on the BBC iPlayer (for another day or so, anyway).

Woohoo! I just managed to download this using the neat little Linux tool get_iplayer. Unlike the official BBC iPlayer, it doesn't delete saved programs from your hard drive after 30 days. It works for TV programs as well.

To download the stream, I used:

Code: Select all

get_iplayer "Darkside" --type=radio
That gave me a listing of shows with Darkside listed as the last entry

Code: Select all

Matches:
10937:	radio, Darkside - 26/08/2013, BBC Radio 2, Drama,Popular,Radio
So then all I had to do was:

Code: Select all

get_iplayer --get 10937

Windows users can get a Win version of it here:

For Mac OSX:

Basic usage instructions here:

A script-builder for those allergic to the command line (Win only, I think):

Tried this out just now. Unfortunately I just get Access Denied messages when I try to run it. Uninstalled.

I suspect you may have clicked on one of the links near the top of the page, that begins with 'BBC'.

You need to scroll down to the 'Download' section where you'll see this link:
http://www.infradead.org/get_iplayer_wi ... latest.exe

If it was the get_iplayer_setup_latest.exe file that you downloaded, this page might help solve the problem.

Yes, it was get_iplayer_setup_latest.exe, and it seemed to install fine, except when I tried to run it, the command line windows just showed "Access Denied" in them. I run in administrator mode all the time, so I know I have the privileges fine. I've never seen any Access Denied messages before.

Hmm.. I just tested this on an XP Virtual machine, and it worked fine.. except that I notice the PID has changed from 10937 to 10935, I presume as a result of other content being dropped after it reached the usual 1 week period.

You could always give the official BBC iPlayer a shot..
