Nice race sequence - had me gripped!

There seem to be more typos in this one, no biggy, but eeking (for eking) and service (for surface) distracted me from the yarn a little.

I didn't like to mention them...

... because I'm sure I'd be accused of being picky and persnickety. The occasional typo is understandable and forgivable :) But perhaps the text could be tidied up just a little before it's posted. There's little worse than dodgy spelling and eccentric punctuation to disturb the mood :(

To perserve morale during long-haul missions, all male officers above the rank of First Technician must, during panto season, be ready to put on a dress and a pair of false breasts.

Very true. Drew, I suggest engaging the services of a proofreader.

Arrgh. Didn't mean to hack you all off. I discovered my dictionary was set wrong (US rather than UK), but mostly bad typing. Promise to proof read better in future. I'm usually ok on this but rushed a bit to get this one out before I went away.

Didn't want to do a 'first encounters' on you and leave you will bugs in the released version.

It's ..er.. patched now! Same link. Mining should work ok...

<grovel> Apologies! </grovel>

Cheers,

Drew.

We're not hacked off, Drew! :D This is constructive criticism - you know, the good and useful kind :D

It's appreciated honestly, this is the first time I've published something directly, and it's cool to get immediate feedback. My stuff has always gone through an editor first... worth me polishing up my freelance skills though.

Hope you are enjoying the story so far. :D

Btw, I tried the (ahem!) 'Kessel Run'... it's virtually impossible at point blank range!

Cheers,

Drew.

It's easier when the space is around you, you can 'feel' it a lot better for real than in a simulator :)

Nice! I like how this one is totally different from ch 1.

(I PMmed you some typos that got through. I might be Flemish, but I used to do proofreading as a hobby and people say I'm not too shabby ;) )

Beeeautiful. I like it. Keep 'em coming.
There is something deeply, deeply wrong with me, and I intend to find out what it is, as soon as I'm done burning this cat.

I've created a wiki page for the story...

http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Status_Quo

Included is a little bit of scene setting to help folks understand better some of the upcoming events.

Thanks to Selezen for his chronology which I am attempting to adhere to, and Andrei for 'eywtkaticawata', which I am also attempting to adhere to.

As you will see on the wiki page... some disclaimers apply!

Cheers,

Drew.

One little typo:

A hanger is what you put your jacket on.
A hangar is where you put planes and space ships.

Just my little bit of pedantry for the day.

But a great read so far, look forward to the next one!
