Eearl Court Road, London

Post by Wyvern Mommy »

going into street view on google maps and earth, you will see this, just outside Earl Court Station:

Image

the nice thing is, you can doubleclick and actually enter it.

and this is what it looks on the inside you can actually walk around in it.

Well, lots of Double Clicking (google maps running inside Firefox 22.0) and I have failed completely to get into it (my daughter is a potty Whovian so this is important!)

that bloke looks like he's just noticed something pinchable in that shop's skip!
OT: Not sure if everyone's seen this, but it's googlemaps/streetview of the abandoned island of Hashima, i don;t know how to lkink to it directly, but if you go here and click the 'view larger map' link underneath the 360 degree photo you can get there - it's a bit like a real life Ravenholm or something, with out the zombies of course.

It seems they replaced the image. In the one I'm seeing currently there is a bloke standing in front of the police box who isn't there in your screen grab.

Also, there seem to have been some road works going on. In all the photographs of the station there is a fence separating the box and the bus stop (or whatever that is behind it) from the street.

Its been there for years. I've got photos of it taken a few years ago (can't find them right now).

There's a few around the country. Check out this search on Flickr:

It was built in 1997 according to Wiki - and the easter egg in google maps is mentioned too.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

I remember there being one there in the 1980's, so the current one must've replaced the orginal.
