[RELEASE] Curse of the Black Sunspot (1.77 only)

Post by cim »

Curse of the Black Sunspot is a short mission OXP set in a nondescript backwater of Galaxy 3.

It will start when the player is in Galaxy 3 with an Elite rating of at least Dangerous. The mission involves a couple of tricky fights, but can be completed with a standard Cobra III.

This is an "informal" mission - no-one is hiring you: there is simply a situation which you can choose to interact with or avoid. Therefore, it might take you a while before you find out where to go and what to do to find the situation. Alternatively, you might accidentally stumble into it while going about your normal business.

No other OXPs are required, though Random Ship Names is strongly recommended, and users of Snoopers and New Cargoes will find a few additional hints about the situation delivered through the messages in those OXPs (though nothing you can't find out through other sources).

Many thanks to Solonar and Diziet Sma for beta testing and feedback.

Installed!
But as I am on a mission to visit every planet (main station) in the universe, and Gal 1 is almost done, it will be a while... Hope the hints are not too subtle, because I will have forgotten about the oxp by then... 8)

Thanks - I've uploaded 1.0.1 now. Unless you have the Sunspots OXP installed, there's no need to upgrade.

Can't wait to check this one out! (I had some computer troubles the last 24 hours, and now I'm a bit behind in my studies, so it'll be a few days to get to it :)).

Great... there was a loading order bug in the loading order resolution code. Thanks for spotting it - fixed in 1.0.2 (if you don't have the Sunspots OXP installed, then there's no need to update)

Sorry, little bit confused here. Is this the OXP that gives sunspots or not?

No, this is a mission OXP - sunspots are provided by the Sunspots OXP.

You should be able to reach Teususdi. Dock at the main station there, and have your systems cleaned. Then take the transmitter to your destination. You might need to get your systems cleaned again on the way.

How do you get the transmitter from the asteroid? Do you have to kill the defending asps or is this not a pre-requisite?
