Thanks for the compliments! :)

If you want to make an OXP that uses aforementioned stations as Zero-G sports arenas, go ahead.
Hey, thanks for the oxps

I dropped myself right in it with that one
I'm a beginner at scripting but something fairly unambitios, like just asigning it to systems with Zero-G mentioned in the description and then giving it some simple sports chatter, might be a start.

Now that you've put lights on it (nice job by the way), perhaps there's a case for...

No lights = no chatter (game not in progress) or chatter is about the upcoming game
Lights = chatter (game taking place), maybe even an occasional crowd sound effect?

Should there be some traffic spawned around it? perhaps public transport vessels? Orbital Shuttles?

It's probably more difficult to make dockables really interesting on the inside.
What could you do in there? Bet on a game? Sponsor a player? (for the wealthy) or a team? (for the very wealthy). Fix a game? (for the criminal).
Is it a good place to sell food? or even minerals? (all that salt makes the punters thirsty  )
Hmm... :?

Thank you :) but I'm sure someone else would have come up with it if they had found that link.
The other thing it looks like (to me at least) is a Biodome...

Absolutely... If I ever make his thing :|

The station has to be in orbit of the planet, perhaps near or in the main station aegis.

I just noticed the numbered levels (?) on the spire - curious.

I sometimes do that when creating a texture so I can sanity check orientation a position of the UV texture map relative to the actual 3D model - perhaps Zieman forgot to actually texture these bits?

Well, I did texture them, sort of.

What I mean is that the numbered pads might work as they are, but at the same time they are placeholder textures, numbers helping to remember where which 'landing pad' is, in case someone comes up with a fancy texture for them.

I can upload the .psd files for all textures used, if anyone happens to need/want them.

As it happens, I quite like the numbered landing pads.

Perhaps it's a giant space clock using octal time keeping?

Yeah... there's some Greek letters in there too. It's fun flying between the towers.

Hmm, maybe the big spire with the pads should be rotating...?

Version 3 is now online:
https://app.box.com/s/p52h0w4wj3hxq5h3i4mi

Now the station only appears if tech level is at least 12, and no multiple instances.

Isn't it about time this project had a proper thread in the OXP section?
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Finally had an idea for this...

Hmm... :?
How about the sports stars themselves?
They'll need ferrying to and from the planet/station/another system.

Maybe the traffic could include some FdLs with escorts for VIP fans/team owners; or a well-kitted out Asp (special edition of course  ) for star players (I'm starting to picture the Asp as a sort of Hum-Vee, although it'd be pretty quick for one of those  ).

Maybe it's a station where lots of people (sports fans) will need ferrying to either the main planet or to a nearby system. So if you like running passenger contracts then it would be a good place to visit and might even encourage you to visit those systems (i.e. noted for their zero-G sports).

Any thoughts?
